How to Prepare for a Successful Seminar Experience
- Classroom Curriculum – Ms. Vallejo will be providing an A to Z Grantwriting Manual for each participant. This manual will be covered in detail during the three-day seminar and has been developed to help participants in the successful learning experience.
- Laptop Computer – Participants are welcome to bring laptop computers if they wish to take notes during the seminar.
- Writing Supplies – Participants are encouraged to bring highlighters, paper, pens, pencils, and post-its. We will be covering a lot of ground together, so be sure to have your writing supplies prepared!
- Current RFP (Request for Proposals/Application Guidelines) and In-Process Proposals – Participants are welcome to bring grants in process, or application guidelines for current efforts, to be evaluated by Ms. Vallejo during breaks in seminar sessions.
- Visit to the Foundation Center Library – As a part of a complete seminar experience, participants will accompany Ms. Vallejo to a regional Foundation Center Library. The regional library, hosted by the Foundation Center , provides valuable funder publications and services, as well as on-line resources and tools. Be sure to bring your classroom writing materials along with you for a successful library experience!
Remember, throughout the seminar, Ms Vallejo will serve as your instructor, mentor and advisor, professionally leading you through the steps needed to complete a successful grantwriting campaign. You are encouraged to ask questions and seek assistance throughout the seminar.
